Business QuickLogic designed into Galaxy Tab

QuickLogic has made it into the Galaxy Tab. The purveyor of CSSPs, customer specific standard products, has a design win for its ArcticLink IC in the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0.

The ArcticLink Chip provides a display interface bridge which extends battery life through a combination of backlight modulation and visual restoration.

The integrated Visual Enhancement Engine (VEE) and Display Power Optimizer (DPO) technologies enhance the display.

QuickLogic had Q2 revenue of $5.1 million, representing an increase of 70% sequentially and 26% from the second quarter of 2012.

Q2 new product revenue for the second quarter of 2013 was $3.1 million, up 229% sequentially and up 80% compared to the second quarter of 2012.

New product revenue accounted for 60% of the total revenue in the second quarter.

Q2 mature product revenue was $2 million, down 2% sequentially and down 14% from the second quarter of 2012.

The Q2 net loss was $3.2 million, compared with a Q1 net loss of $3.6 million, and a Q2 2012 net loss of $3.2 million.

QuickLogic has a market cap of $127 million.
